Will aquarium plants grow in any type of light?

I got a 10 gallon aquarium and it came with a lid with 2 incandescent light bulbs behind a plastic shield so water doesn't splash them. I am planning on getting live aquarium plants but i heard from a few people that you need fluorescent light. Does it really matter? Plants just need light and 2 incandescent light bulbs are pretty bright. some of my friends say its not a big deal and that my light bulbs will work fine. Others say that i should get flourscent lighting. But that would be spending money on some sort of new lid because my tank lid came with incandescent bulb built in. What i'm asking is: Will incandescent light be sufficient enough to grow aquarium plants? let me also say that my tank is in my living room right by a big window so during the day there a lot of natural light shining in. 5-month-old waking up for food twice a night?

My 5-month-old son wakes up twice a night for feedings, and I was wondering if there were any ways to reduce this. We don't mind feeding him overnight and we want to do everything for him, but we're wondering if there's a way to work it so he can sleep right through. He's eating rice cereal before bedtime, but gets bottles when he wakes up. Feeding him generally gets him right back to sleep, in fact he rarely opens his eyes through the entire process! Here's what i've done so far. New gas, new air filter, cleaned gas lines, new spark plug, oil level fine. The mower turns over then dies. The last time it ran, it kind of sputtered a little (3-4 minutes) then ran fine. This time, I can't get it to run. I Messed Up In Life, Who Is to Blame?

I think you are right and that parents who are insanely over-protective of their children wind up with children who don't know how to deal with real life and function in the real world. They are either paranoid and neurotic or they go the other way and go absolutely nuts when they're finally allowed some freedom and wind up doing drugs and sleeping around. I grew up with a friend whose parents were like that and he is now a full time cocaine dealer and has been in and out of trouble with the law since he moved away from his domineering parents. I think parents need to allow their children to experience life in gradually increasing levels of observation -- ie, don't send your six-year-old out into the streets alone, but when they're older, give them more and more freedom, let them hang out with friends at their houses, go to the mall or the movies in groups, that kind of thing, and when they turn 16 and have a license, they should be allowed to do things on their own, within the bounds of reason (say, 9pm curfew on weekdays, 11pm on weekends, etc.), and ALWAYS be accepting and willing to listen and answer ALL questions without making a big deal out of it. You want your kids to know that they can trust you with their problems.

Canker sore underneath tongue! Can anyone give me some advice? Has anyone been through this same path?

About a week ago I got what appears to be a canker sore right underneath my tongue, located right on top of the vein. I thought it would go away with time but it continued to grow and boy is it painful. I feel pain for anything a slight movement of tongue while talking or even breathing. Now a week after it still hurts but it's seems to be healing but leaving a sore of scar. Is this normal for canker sores to do? I have rule out because from all the information I gather only occur in lips, gums and roof of mouth, while in other area canker sores occur in movable parts of our mouths (cheeks and tongue). This is so stressful, because I want to communicate with people but it hurts.

Well a little bit of a complicated situation, but you need to have an honest sit down with both of them. Nothing they are doing is illegal, and they should be able to experiment. Accidentally scd inside of ear with q-tip, could this be problematic?

Last night, while cleaning my ear with a q-tip, without looking at it first, I stuck it in my ear and twirled it around, and then experienced the most painful thing ever. It turn out there was no soft part on the end of the q-tip so I had scd the inside of my ear with basically a stick. It was bleeding a little, but I would think that that was normal, considering. My Mom&Dad atiel just laid another egg and out of safety.....?

We used to have atiels a few years back and sometimes they would lay eggs and out of no where, they would literally break the egg and toss it out of the nest box onto the cage floor. So one time, I took the last egg that was left and i put it in my dresser drawer on a heating pad and 2 weeks later, it hatched! It only lived for about 3 weeks and something was wrong with it because it couldnt sit on my finger and couldn't walk. Tube Amp Ocean Noise?

My Kustom Coupe all tube amp has been emmiting really loud ocean wave sounds that present on both channels but is far worse on the lead channel. The amp is very high in gain. I took it to a tech and he said that since it is a high gain amp, it will cause ocean noises and that they are normal. My son is 6 months old, and he is still waking up in the middle of the night to eat at least 2 times. 2004 Riding Mower Turns Over Won't Start?

It's my project this summer now! I bought a used 2004 riding mower last year and it worked ok. The end of the season last year it started to need to be jumped via my car. I charged the battery from last year, got the engine to start once but it stalled and then nothing. I bought a new battery this year but it still didn't start to crank over. All I got was a clicking sound when I turned the key. I then "jumped" the solenoid (from reading ideas online) and it began to want to crank over. But no actual running. I replaced the solenoid and the key now engages the motor but still no starting. I bought and replaced the fuel filter and let some of the gas run through the tube to the ground to flush out anything that may have been in the tube. I also changed out the spark plug just in case as I continue to troubleshoot this darn thing! That's where I'm at. The engine still cranks and cranks and cranks but never any actual running. Ideas please!

I went to E R three days ago with spotting/bleeding. A sonogram showed approx.12 oz. 21 week boy and 37 mm cervix. Admitted and on bed rest. am told if i carry 48 hrs possible bed rest might go long enough to develope lungs. 5th dayam laying with hips up and total bed rest.still spotting but endocin is stopping pains. I got a pap smear 7+ months back. Found out today that it came back abnormal...?

When we (at the lab) get an abnormal pap smear, it usually has to be sent to the pathologist for a closer examination. Although seven months is a very long time-you are right. Abnormal cells means, of course, not normal. Most of the time it means they are cancer cells. Which is not as bad as it sounds. Many people get this and it DOES NOT mean you have cancer. Many doctors will not tell you this because they know you will totally freak out (which always happens when the word cancer comes up). They will especially not tell you this over the phone. They will check it again, and if it is found again, they just burn it off. Its that simple. I know many people, personally, that have had this done and their only comment was that they got great pain med's when it wasn't even that bad. My sister even had it done and she is perfectly healthy now. No abnormals since. I suggest you get a better gyno. You should have been informed sooner. Good luck.

Help reconsidering nursing career?

I am soon to be 27 years old. I have a 3 year old son and I feel like time is awasting. I have been pursuing this nursing dream for years but over came many obstacles over the past 4 years(child support, custody issues, military ) and on top of that working full time. Therefore I haven't been as focused as i would have liked to been. So my grades have suffered in the process. I had to keep repeating pre-req's (a&p, micro) and decided I am sooo sick of it. Maybe nursing isnt for me right now, so I am going to finish up credits for a bachelors degree in health science so i can graduate next year, and from there see where I want to end up. Get a few certifications under my belt and take it from there. Who know I could even clean up my transcript and become an occupational therapist or even get my ms in health admin or public health. Or even do an accelerated BSN. Either way, I gotta mave moves, I dont have time to waste and i dont have time to be waiting on someone's nursing school waiting list. Not to mention I hate my job as a CNA, I am treated like s*** and i want a change so fast but it pays so well (21/hr) . Please tell me what would you do if you were me, I just want to be succesful doing something I generally enjoy besides wiping booties all day.

4 months old, reflux, introducing cereal......?

I am looking for parents who have experienced severe acid reflux....my son is on enfamil AR and is ready to start introducing rice cereal to his diet (spoon fed.) He has held his head up steady since two months (as his reflux and colic have made him very strong) and I am wondering if anyone has had any problems with this formula and starting cereal since it has cereal already added to it. Okay so me and this girl Caroline are best friends. We have been for about 6 months and I eventually developed feelings for her. I told her I liked her about 3 months ago and I said I don't want it to get awkward and she didn't say anything of importance, mainly just "Oh okay well cool. And don't worry it won't get awkward." I told her I was fine being friends because I knew whether or not she would go out with me, she wouldn't want to risk our friendship after we broke up because she doesn't have all too many friends just having moved here, plus we're such good friends. Well, we talk legitimately 18 hours a day either texting or calling and see each other a lot and the more we do the more I like her. Basically right now I'm having trouble being just friends because she's like...the perfect girl for me and I've never really liked a girl like this. Well last night we were talking and we brought up who we'd have with and stuff just asking questions so I said "Who would you with from school?" and she said, "Well you're my best friend so idk and everyone else is girls" (cause we're not really friends with any guys at my school that she would even think to do it with). Because the idea of us going further was brought up I thought it'd be a good time to tell her how i felt. I told her I'm not okay being friends and kind of asked her out without asking if you get what I mean. I also said the LAST thing I want is for her to think that if she doesn't go out with me then she'll lose my friendship or feel like she has to. She told me she didn't want to lose my friendship because I'm like the only person she can be herself around and she values it more than anyone's friendship. It could just be an excuse for her not wanting to because she's not attracted to me or whatever other reason, but I don't know. Later on I told her I really can't hang out with her and talk to her as much as we do while just being friends because I like her so much and I said to just give me the weekend to think about it. She said she understood. But now we're texting and talking today as friends and I know that in another bit of time, a week or maybe a month, I'm going to not be able to take it again and this will happen again. I really don't know what to do because I don't think I'm gonna be able to not be friends with her but at the same time I can't be just friends with her and be this close. I feel trapped. I have no idea what to do and I brought in the Jim and Pam from The Office (a TV show for those who don't know) where Jim does this EXACT same thing and Pam responds the EXACT same way so Jim moves away and they don't talk anymore (only to eventually get married later on but that's besides the point haha). I'm a 16 year old kid so this isn't an option. What do I do? How do I handle this? I'm going to go crazy and just get really depressed if I stay friends and nothing more and ESPECIALLY if she gets a boyfriend that I have to see which is inevitable. How am i selfish in this matter?

I just started playing soccer this year and originally i was supposed to be a back-up goalie because the other goalie is a senior and im a junior in high school.I started the first 30 minutes of our first 2 games. During our second game the main goalie fell and tore her ACL and is now out for the season. Scared for my life that in gonna be the only goalie and im a beginner at soccer,i did way better than i thought i would. As far as our season goes,we lost every game and not even scored 1 point. I did exactly what the coaches told me to do, they even told me themselves. So therefore i expect to be MVP this season. I told my friend and she said that i was being selfish. Am i really being selfish in this matter?

i would only be 16 days pregnant. i took a blood test at 13 days and it came out neg. my last start day was around august 8th and i slept with my boyfriend the 14th..but i got a lot of symptoms. my "symptoms" may just be coming from worrying too much about it. Like for instance when i bend over or reach/twist to get something off a shelf my stomach kinda hurts. and when i sit at a desk at school for too long my stomach just starts feeling weird. my ovaries hurt me for like 5 days and stopped and now it comes and goes. i get more frequent headaches but its only like 2 times a week..i pee a lot more but i also having been drinkin a lot so it could be from that.i havent noticed any cravings yet or changes in appetite other then for a week i didnt wanna eat anything and now i wanna eat a LOT..every symptom i got has another reason as to why it could be happening..Before i took the blood test my doctor told me it may not be accurate but they'd test anyway cus the sooner i get prenatal care the better. shes sending me to an obgyn but i got a week or so before that appointment. I got another 6 or 7 days before i would be scheduled to start my period but i've never missed one so that'll give me my answer..its driving me crazy not knowing!! how accurate are the clearblues at really detecting pregnancy 5 days before ur first missed period?

I think it is breaking at or very close to the scalp from bleaching and overcoloring. In some spots, it looks so scarce it appears bald. I'm 18 and I lead a very stressful and secluded life (I'm a caregiver for my mom and aunt, who are disabled and/or housebound). I don't have any friends. None. Literally. None of my family speaks to us and my dad's only interested in being a father when he feels like calling me 3 or 4 times a year for 5 minutes. I was homeschooled so I don't have any friends from school. My aunt is paranoid and narcissistic but refuses to get professional help. My mom goes through mood swings.
