Is it ok to leave my dog alone overnight?

He is a 12 month old JRT and we willl be away from about 4pm in the afternoon, getting home around lunchtime the next day. He has free reign over the back room in the house, and a doggy door so that he can go in and outside as he pleases, (which is how he is during the week while we are at work - we have a fully fenced backyard). We will be leaving him plenty of water, and his dinner before we go. I also plan on taking him for a big walk before we leave. Will this be ok?
