How can you tell if your pinkie finger is dislocated?

Not sure if that's what it is but it hurt to move and it hurts when I touch where the bone meets my hand. Its a very sore and painful feeling. It seems to be the cushion in between the bone (not sure if cushion is the right word) pains been here a little over a month. Any ideas? Should I head to c a doc 2morro?
