Does anyone here have any job search tips for an Economics graduate?

I am just finishing up my BA at the University of California, Irvine. I'll have a degree in Economics and a minor in Political science and mathematics by this August. I worked at a law office for 9 months and then for another quarter at a financial services firm. I am looking for a position as a Financial yst or accountant. I have not been able to secure a position. I don't want to work in a primarily sales field. I would love to work in a more research/ ysis type of field. Unfortunately, for people with no real experience, Sales jobs are the only ones available. I have the knowledge of Financial and managerial accounting. I also have very good MS office skills. My GPA is also not a problem. Does anyone have any tips that could make my job search more productive? I would really appreciate any help! Thank You.
