Is a cyclone vacuum capable of sorting wood dust by size?

Hello, I am looking to create a vacuum system for my wood lathe, and was looking at a cyclone vacuum design. Would this design be capable of sorting the coarse chips apart from the fine dust? If not, is the a type of vacuum that could do this?
